Senior Portraits for Ashton – Katy Houston Photographer

Where in the world do I begin today?  I don’t EVEN  know where to start — so I’m just uploading Ashton’s senior portraits to this blog machine, and we will see how they land…

Be sure you linger here a little while today and get to know this brilliant beauty.  You’ll be amazed. 2016-06-13_0024

Ashton is a 2016 graduate of Cinco Ranch High School here in Katy.  She’s been active in track and field — and she’s got the ribbons and medals to show for it.

But there’s definitely a “pretty” side to her as well.  We loved playing around with her track shoes and her heels to show these different facets of her style and personality.

Oh, and did we tell you she’s smart.  Like . . . ummm. . . very smart.  She graduated with Distinguished Honors and is heading to Howard University in Washington, D.C. where she will study Biology/Pre-Med.

Senior Portraits for Trey – Katy Houston Photographer

Photographing senior guys is one of my favorite things ever.

This is Trey. I’ve been looking forward to working with him for the last two years — ever since photographing his older brother.

2016-06-14_0001

Trey graduated this spring from James E. Taylor High School in Katy, and he played percussion in the JETBand.

He gets from one place to another in this glorious red BMW.  I absolutely love it when my seniors plan their sessions to include special items like vehicles and musical instruments.

That red Beamer will be right at home this fall at The University of Houston where official campus colors are red and white.  That’s where Trey will be studying Electrical Engineering.

Face it.  It’s not unusual for guys to be less enthusiastic about their portraits than their parents are. After all, they have places to go and things to do.  Still, they participate because they know how much it means to mom and dad.

At the end of the day, though, they always say that it was not as bad as they thought it could be, and they’ll even admit that they had a pretty good time.

If you know an incoming senior guy who is not totally enthusiastic about creating his senior portraits but who knows that it is an important milestone, bring him to my studio.

I promise NO CHEESY SAPPY STUFF.  Just a fun hour or two and a book full of fantastic personality-driven images to enjoy for years to come.

Congratulations on your graduation, Trey.  Thank you for keeping SPCcreative Photography Senior Portraits as your family graduation tradition.

Senior Portraits for Brie – Katy Sugar Land Houston Photographer

This is Brie. She’s a fresh new graduate of Clements High School in Sugar Land.

She’s STUNNING!

And here are the Senior Portraits we created for her  in our Katy/West Houston studio this spring.  Hair and makeup by Rachael Elise Walker, Elise Artistry.

I first met this young lady when her mother occasionally brought her to the office or to Relay For Life events when we  worked together at the American Cancer Society.

Mom and I kept very loosely in touch through social media over the years, but I don’t believe we had actually seen each other in person since the day I left that job in 2008. That’s when I took the leap to tackle my photography as a full tim venture.  So, you can imagine how surprised and excited I was when she called to ask about creating these portraits.

Brie’s  a voracious reader and adventurous traveler.  She love to escape into a good book, and she loves even more to travel the world.  She’s been to Europe, to China, and several times to work with families and children in a Romanian mission. As I learned about her varied interests, I started gathering items to create this composite storyboard with globes and books.  I really do love how it all came together!

Brienne’s style?  It’s very Bo-Ho Chic, so it’s perfect that she’s the first person ever photographed soaking up the sun in front of our flower fence.

Now that school is out for the summer, Brie’s looking forward to some more amazing summer traveling. When she gets back, she’ll begin her studies at Baylor University where she’ll study Political Science.

I look for her to become a powerful force in bringing good things to the far corners of this world we all live in.

Senior Portraits for Caroline – Katy Houston Photographer

If there ever was an All American Girl, it would be Caroline!

How lucky am I that I got to create her senior portraits? 2016-02-21_0011

Caroline will graduate this spring from Cinco Ranch High School where she’s been involved in so many activities I can hardly keep track.

She plays clarinet in the band.   She’s a member of the Good Sportsmanship Club, the Cinco Sweethearts, Senior Women, and she’s been a Cougar Challenge Officer for three years, reaching out to other schools about ways to help ensure  that all students feel accepted and included.

2016-02-21_0002

I love to see how the most involved and well-rounded students are the ones who reach beyond their own communities!

2016-02-21_0003

Not too long ago, Caroline and her mother took small group of swimming instructors to Brazil because they had learned that the incidence of child drownings there was very high.  These women worked to teach young moms in the villages  how to swim and more importantly to teach them how to train their children how to respond if they fell into the water or got into a dangerous water situation.

She may never know how many young lives are saved because of this trip, but I’ll bet it makes a huge difference in the lives of several families.

2016-02-21_0004

After graduation, Caroline is Baylor Bound where she plans to study marketing.

While she could go to work in her family business, she is keeping her options open.

2016-02-21_0013

After all, there’s a big bold world out there with opportunities we have never thought of yet.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, Caroline.  I can’t wait to see what you do with your brains and your sweet spirit.

Thank you for allowing me to create your senior portraits for you.  I hope you and your family enjoy them for many many years!

Senior Portraits for S’vani – Cy-Fair Houston Photographer

THIS  . . . THIS is the face of The Class of 2016.

This is S’vani, a Senior at Langham Creek High School in the Cy-Fair  ISD.

I loved working with her because she is always smiling.  Seriously.  ALWAYS smiling.  She smiles so much that we had to WORK  HARD to capture a few serious images of her.

We liked the smiling photographs best through because they are so … HER.

If the rest of her classmates are anything like S’vani, their school must run a close second to Disney as the Happiest Place on Earth!

2015-10-23_0005 2015-10-23_0006

What is it that makes her smile?

For one thing, her participation and leadership  in Color Guard runs through her very core.  For those of you who are uninitiated, the Langham Creek Color Guard is absolutely legendary and has been for years.

You know what else is cool?  S’vani’s MOTHER, Rachel,  performed with the very same group when she was in high school.

They were great then too!  Just ask her.

Maybe flag, rifle, and marching skills are hereditary.  Just sayin’

Oh, and did you see that big red NHS on the sleeve of her letter jacket above?  Being a part of the National Honor Society  can only mean that S’vani is also ONE SMART COOKIE!  NHS gathers the students with the highest grades and helps prepare them to be successful leaders as they provide much-needed services to people and other organizations within their community.

2015-10-23_0008

After graduation, S’vani plans become a psychologist, and she will study at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where she has already been accepted.

2015-10-23_0010

As for her fashion-style, S’vani says she likes to mostly be comfortable, but she LOVES to dress up for special occasions — and sometimes just because.

2015-10-23_0003

2015-10-23_0011

In her down time, when she has any, she may be found enjoying  bubble tea and all things associated with Asian culture along with her closest friends.

What nobody knows about her, though,  is that she loves video games and she’s pretty darn good at League of Legends, Pokemon, Team Fortress 2, Assassin’s Creed, and Border Bands 2.
